Shernavian Vandiber
Shernavian is the author of the Veggie Town children’s book series, beginning with Veggie Town’s Mystery Garden – The Missing Carrots. Through Baby Bunny and the colorful residents of Veggie Town, young readers encounter friendship, problem-solving, kindness, tolerance, acceptance, confidence, creativity, imagination, and the importance of belonging.
Each story is designed to encourage children to think, imagine, create, dream big, and believe in themselves while experiencing important childhood milestones and developmental stages. The series also explores everyday experiences such as making friends, spending time away from home, starting school, dealing with bullying, losing a first tooth, participating in community events, and learning to appreciate the gifts and talents of others.
Shernavian believes children’s books can be more than stories—they can become tools for learning, growth, conversation, and discovery. Her vision includes lesson plans, curriculum connections, activities, SEL, STEM/STEAM learning, arts and creativity, role play, and family engagement to support parents, teachers, librarians, and educators.
Through her stories, Shernavian hopes every child will discover that their voice matters, their imagination matters, their creativity matters, and they matter.
