My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed “Alison in Wonderland”. We both grew up in the Ocean State and spent many hours at the beach and then later went on many scuba diving trips : Belize, Honduras, Australia a couple of times when the reefs were still good, Bonaire, Curacao, Dominica, and the Micronesia islands of Yap, Chuk, and Palau for some really outstanding dives.
Anyway, this book brought back all those memories.
I also remembered a boring dive trip to Nassau but luckily I found a coral patch about 3 feet in diameter and spent the whole dive watching the little fishes swimming in and out of the coral. My imagination went wild (just like Alison’s) – some going off to work, school, shopping, home. This book brought back all those memories. Just like Alison in the book my imagination went wild – some going off to work, school, shopping, home. I had a ball at an otherwise dreary dive site. I bought 2 books for my 3 pre-school great grandkids for their library when they are ready for it. I know their mothers will enjoy reading it to them – one loves fantasy and the other is a kindergarten teacher.
