To be Kingdom Minded is to keep God at the center of all that we do. Matthew 6:33 (Amplified) states: But first and most importantly see (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right---the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

By being Kingdom Minded, we must incorporate Jesus into everything that we do. We must always seek His wisdom, His guidance, and His direction. As adults, we tend to do these things, but even as little babies (starting in the womb) the same is true. This is how Raising Kingdom Minded Kids was born!!!

Tears to Justice https://localbooknook.com/product/tears-to-justice/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=tears-to-justice https://localbooknook.com/product/tears-to-justice/#respond Tue, 12 Nov 2024 19:53:58 +0000 https://localbooknook.com/?post_type=product&p=7997 Tears to Justice is a work of fiction. Upon graduating from West Point in 1838, Second Lieutenant Jacob Johnson fulfilled his father’s dream of having a son serve as a United States Army officer. His father had been orphaned at the age of ten when his parents were killed by Cherokees in the Massacre of Long Cane Creek, South Carolina.

Second Lieutenant Johnson received his first duty assignment at graduation. He was anything but pleased. He was assigned to assist in forcing Cherokee Indians to leave their homes and march to the Oklahoma Indian Territory.

The conditions along the Trail were brutal. The Trail of Tears had earned its name. The lieutenant befriended a young Cherokee woman, Awinita, who was expecting a child. The baby would not wait to be born in Oklahoma. The young lieutenant was given permission to take the expectant mother to a cotton plantation along the Trail, where she gave birth.

The plantation owners were instructed to see that the mother and her baby were placed with the next group of Indians that came along on the Trail. Later, the lieutenant discovered that the mother and her baby had been sold into slavery by the plantation owner.

The lieutenant devoted the rest of his career to seeking justice for those who were forced off of their lands and onto reservations, or who were held in slavery. He was also committed to seek accountability for those who abused others.

After thirty years of military service, and attaining the rank of colonel, many of Colonel Jacob Johnson’s goals had been fulfilled, especially as he fought with General Grant in the War Between the States.

My sister in Christ and a very good friend, Elder Shakira Gardner, founder of “Becoming Woman Ministries” was one of the proofers of Powerful Impartations. After reading the original format, she said her first thought was, “I know there’s more, I want more!” Then she thought, “There must be a part ll.” So here we are! Please embark upon this journey with me as I share how God turned many of the painful events in my life, into His PURPOSE.

Pastor Felicia Collins

Written by Pastor Felicia R. Bowman

Pastor Bowman was born in Macon County, Alabama on August 12, 1973. She was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and currently resides in Deatsville, Alabama. Pastor Bowman currently serves as a Registered Nurse Patient Advocate. She is a graduate from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama. The author attended Treholm State Tech College where she obtained a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in June 2000. She later graduated from Troy University School of Nursing in May of 2011. She worked in Critical Care for ten years after graduating. She has also worked as a Pediatric, Geriatric, Wound Care, and Home Health Nurse during her career.

Pastor Bowman, as a child, grew up in an environment, where although her parents were loving parents, they didn’t always make the best decisions in life. Their decisions impacted the lives of their family, in both positive and negative ways. It was those impactful moments that lead to many others, and through the things she suffered, she was led to Christ in her early 20’s. Pastor Bowman was licensed as an Evangelist on April 10, 2011 by Pastor Samuel D. Smith at Agape Christian Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop William E. Hopkins and Lady Audrey Hopkins.

Before Pastor Felicia R. Bowman surrendered her life to Jesus Christ, she faced many hardships. By age seventeen, she had two sons, Jaboris and Gregory Walker Jr. out of wedlock, married their father at age twenty and gave birth to Marjavius L. Walker at 21 years of age. After suffering from the abuse of her husband, she divorced, eleven years later. It was a very painful ending with their sons suffering the most, from the experience of seeing their family grow further and further apart.

Margaret Smith Marston

Written by Margaret Smith Marston

Margaret was born into a family of storytellers rooted in the values of service to others and working for justice.

She has always been a writer: volunteering for the school PTA, creating the family newsletter, writing briefs as a lawyer, and making up silly stories and songs with and for her children. She worked as a reading teacher and an attorney before deciding to commit her time to raising her three children.

As a mother, Margaret was intentional and instilled values of kindness, compassion, and putting oneself in another person’s shoes. Her children often heard “remember to be kind because you don’t know what another person is dealing with in their life.” She now works with young children weekdays as an after-school care teacher.

Margaret is thrilled to share “Eureka, Paprika!”, an imaginary tale offering entertainment, humor, and encouragement to be our best selves.
